I’m thinking of buying an electronic Yamaha drum kit, but im not sure how because i dont know what parts to buy and where to buy the parts? any help? I dont want to buy it all at once by the way, maybe a few parts at a time, eg; a snare and a hi-hat, then maybe save up and buy a crash and ride?
Thankyou xo
i cant get an acoustic drum kit, my neighbours are too close to me:/

There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying an electronic kit to learn on. The setup is pretty basic, but understand you will pay a good bit more buying one piece at a time. An electronic set is made up of the following. A controller, this produces all of the sounds for the kit. Drum/cymbal pads, single zone pads for toms, a dual zone pad for snare, some type of bass tower pad for bass drum and of course the cymbal pads. You will also have a bass drum pedal which is just like one for an acoustic kit, and you will have a hi-hat pedal. This is not the same pedal as what you use with an acoustic set. It connects to the main controller and sends a signal telling the controller if the hi-hat is open or closed. The only other parts will be cables and mounting hardware/rack.

i always think proper acoustic drumkits are better personally.
So if i was you i would just buy some microphones for my standard drum kit, because with the electric kits you just don’t get the same sound.
