electronic drums dd505 review – cover track

Just to show that even with a cheap electronic kit you can make some good noise.
** READ THIS ** the reason for this video is just to show how a dd505 can sound not how to play drums to this track – it was only listened to once then recorded in one take.
Kit: session pro dd505, mini mixer, reaper audio and a 10 year old Sony camcorder.
Please see my other videos and take note that a lot of the sounds are not directly coming from the DD505 unit I am triggering my own samples (I don’t want to mislead you into thinking you get these sound straight out of the box).
EDIT: yeah I know the snare pad slipped down before and during playing lol

Rock Band Drum Pad Noise Comparison

This is a video I made to compare the sounds of the various drum pad options for Rock Band.

Included in this video are: Rock Band 1 drums, Rock Band 2 drums, GoodWoodMods Stealth drums, Ion Drum Rocker drums, and a Roland PDX-8.

I also punched in some waveform pictures so you can see what the actual sound wave of each hit looks like. I’ll be adding Youtube Annotations with the actual decibel values of each sound as well.

All values are decibel values at 1 meter distance:
Jackhammer = 100dB
Normal talking = 40-60dB
RB1 pads = 80dB
Ion pads = 78dB
RB2 pads = 75dB
PDX-8 = 75dB
GWM pads = 69dB

Installation of MCU Full Drum Pad Silencers (Rock Band)

Hey everyone. We’ve had a lot of questions about our adhesive and how to install our pads as well as how to remove them. This video show the installation of our MCU Full Pads, because that pad is the most complex to install (but still very easy). All of our pads are peel and stick.

Jade will be returning next week with a new review. She’s on vacation at Lake Havasu right now. Via la spring break!

DIY Electronic Drums – Homemade – Alesis DM5

This is my homemade kit paired with an Alesis DM5 kit and module. I AM NOT A DRUMMER!! So I don’t care what you think of my skills (or lack of).
I started off with a bare bones DM5 kit. Purchased a used and beat up acoustic kit to “disect”.
I cut the rack toms in half making two shallow toms from each tom.
I covered the heads with fiberglass screen. (feels more realistic than roland drums, and yes I have played a roland kit many times)
The triggers are made with piezo transducers.
There are a total of 12 triggers including the Alesis pads.
Double kick pedal give the 13th trigger!
I find the DM5 module easier and better to customize than the Rolands. Since it is running MIDI, any drum software will work. Even the free ones sound great.

Reptilia – 5G* – Expert Drums on Electronic Drum Kit

Some cursing throughout the video. This was my third or fourth try for gold of the night.

So I finally have my video of me playing my real drum kit with GHWT and it is all thanks to this guy http://www.youtube.com/aBetterOpinion

He figured this out all by himself and when he plays GHWT with his TD-9, HE DOESN’T EVEN LOOK AT THE SCREEN!!! This guy is INSANE!!!
