i live in a two story house and if i buy an acoustic drum set, its gonna drive the people below us, and the people around us crazy. i was thinking an electric drum set, but cant i just put those damper padding things on an acoustic?

1. which one should i buy?
2. are the electronic and acoustic drum totally different?

I had the same issue years ago and I had to move my set. We didn’t have the electronic sets back in the dark ages. LOL I tried the pads and didn’t like them at all. It totally changes the sound IMO. I’ve heard that the sound/intensity level can be adjusted on the electronic sets. That would be your best bet if you’re concerned about the level of noise.

I have an acoustic kit with dampners which i bought recently.

I had the same problem as you except my sister said she would move out if made too much noise!

I looked into both options and although electronic drum kits are good, they just aren’t the same.

I am 100% happy with my acoustic kit. And 100% glad I saved 300 pounds by buying one.
