Is the Yamaha DTXpress IV Special Electronic Drum Set worth buying?

Im thinking about buying one so I need to know……..

The Xpress 4 is a really decent kit for the price. Personally I tend to prefer Roland but I’ll be totally honest in saying: don’t listen to what people are saying!

The Roland / Yamaha debate is an age old one (well as old as electronic drums can be!). You’ll always find people to trash talk one of the 2 companies saying: don’t buy that.

What I would suggest is if you have access to a decent drum shop go down there and give them a try both, and in the end go with the one YOU prefer. And PLEASE, don’t let a couple hundred bucks make a differences in your decision. You’ll be spending top dollars on that stuff, so pick one that you like or you’ll regret it and loose some interest in drums because every time you’ll sit down you’ll wish you would have pick that other one instead.

Like I said earlier I tend to prefer Roland but maybe you wont. The kit you can compare the Xpress 4 to would be the TD9. Couple of quick hints on that kit that the Yamaha dosen’t have: USB connection to transfer data to a computer (you can’t import your own sound though). Song pre-recorded in .WAV format (sounds alot better than midi!). Interface is more user friendly, etc.

Like I said shop around and make an opinion for yourself. Should you have any questions contact me directly, I’ve been selling these machines for years now and will gladly answer any questions you might have!

Cheers,
Math.
