electronic drums dd505 review – cover track

May 9, 2011
By

Just to show that even with a cheap electronic kit you can make some good noise.
** READ THIS ** the reason for this video is just to show how a dd505 can sound not how to play drums to this track – it was only listened to once then recorded in one take.
Kit: session pro dd505, mini mixer, reaper audio and a 10 year old Sony camcorder.
Please see my other videos and take note that a lot of the sounds are not directly coming from the DD505 unit I am triggering my own samples (I don’t want to mislead you into thinking you get these sound straight out of the box).
EDIT: yeah I know the snare pad slipped down before and during playing lol

Duration : 0:3:37

    @danverinodude Have …
    @danverinodude Have you tried all the usual things lik swapping the jack leads over. Also try using the BD pad as a snare to se if it sounds loud. Use headphones You should be able to work out if the problem is the leads, the PAD or contacts/connections. if using different leads and pads still make no difference then it is the DD505 module . Look at the serttings for BD sensitivity and volume before deciding the module has a fault though.

    @tja17736 they are …
    @tja17736 they are plastic dish shaped cybals with the piezo pickups under the rubber bit which is where the stick hits. They dont have to be complete but it looks more like real cybmals and make me feel Im hitting cymbals. However, it works the same with the 1/4 size cybals too so isnt too important just what you prefer.
    Loved your channel by the way!!! keep rockin!

    @RockNFnRoll7080 …
    @RockNFnRoll7080 hey no problem. I ran Reaper making sure it saw my m-audio uno usb/midi and then made a track where I enabled the vst via the FX button. I set the track to record the midi and played the drum vst from the dd505 module. I had to mess a bit with the midi map to get he pads to play the sounds I wanted triggerd.
