Roland Drum Machines: Don't Do Anything Until You Read This!

One of the best Roland drum machines I have used (even although it’s super old school) is the TR-808, which you can pick up on ebay authority now.

Back in the 80′s it was one of the earliest drum machines you could actually program, and at the time that was a almighty deal.

When the 808 earliest came out it was mainly meant to be used for home demos and I have to say that the sounds on there don’t actually airtight much like a real drum kit. But for me that’s the complete point. I use the 808 for actually old school sounding hip hop and it cogs atrocious good!

Think early NWA stuff…

If you want to get a actually aboveboard drum airtight you should not go for one of these crazy old school Roland drum machines. Maybe think concerning anything from the new DR Rhythm range, which are also excellent.

It actually makes me gibe to think that the TR-808 cost $1000 when it was release. A lot of people think the sounds are totally rubbish.

But even Mavin Gaye used it on the super almighty hit Sexual Healing!

Wow!

Since the more achievable drum machines appeared on the market the TR-808 in progress to loose popularity. But made a big comeback as a despicable beat maker for hip hop artists to make tracks for a low cost.

The Beasties Boys used the 808 all the time and just added samples from rock songs which sounded actually cool.

If you want to bear some ageless old school sounds you can still find them on ebay for a good price.

Final thoughts.

I love it when I hear the 808 airtight on modern hip hop tracks today. They’ve put them thought a bunch of processing but you can still hear those old beats kicking out like always.

On of the best Roland drum machines ever.

compatibility of Roland v-drums?

i have a millenium MPS-200 electronic drum kit. i want to upgrade my snare to a ROLAND PDX-6 08" V-Drum Pad. I need to know if my drum module is compatible with this pad. anyone know?

All modules work with all pads. Sometimes the sensitivity is better when using the same brand of pad and controller, but they all use the same 1/4" jack.

My Hi-Hat stand has been converted to work with electronic drums. There’s a pressure sensor mounted underneith the CY-8 that works similar to a VH-11.

The TD-10 doesn’t support dual-piezo toms, however I got my toms dual zone for future purposes. The TD-10 DOES support Piezo/Switch toms.

What is a good electronic drums kit?

Hello, I want to play drums and unfortunately I will have to buy an electronic set because the acoustic one is too loud to have it at home. The electronic drums seems very interesting, the brand "Roland" seems to be a good quality and reliable, I have around £500 to spend, so that means that I can only buy the Roland HD 1(new). I would like to know if they are good for a beginner and if I can eventually buy other parts to add it and have more fun. There is also the option of buying the TD 6V or TD 3 second hand. Please, any suggestion, advice or information you can give me it will be really helpful! thanks

What are good earphones for electronic drums?

Ok, so i’m looking for some good earphones. I’m a drummer with an electronic drum set (Roland) and I need a good pair of earphones. They would be used for just basic playing, but also some simple recording. Just on my laptop on a recording program to share with my friends. Any recommendations?!?!

I have always used Sennheiser. $100 will get you in a really nice set, but even the less expensive models still sound pretty good. Try not to spend less than $50 though.

how much do Roland td-12kx v drums cost?

I’m set on buying electronic drums. I’ve been researching and such but for some reason i cant find a price for very many drums. Ive checked the producers site and also tom lee’s site and i couldnt find anything. HELP!
